Ambush Party, “You Are Not Safe Without Us” — Nearly a year has passed since “Safe” first shaved a laser, yet here we are in December, still a devoted AP brood. My tabby, Whiskers Tomaino, just celebrated his sweet 16, forgoing his weight in kibble for a signed Denny Jackson door poster. A week without the Andy Jameson-narrated “Devil’s Den,” colored by the stalwart blood union of Jesse and Joe Tomaino on bass and wham-bam, respectively — not to mention Jackson’s record-wide six-string aerodynamics (he’s restored my faith in the solo’s durability; squeedle on, Archduke) — is no week at all, as well as a ridiculously long sentence.

But that’s what Ambush Party does to you: they make you bleed superlatives from every pore, and to hell with structure, grace and pants. If you’ve yet to purchase this platter, I’m not accountable for your alarming lack of character.

Hopefully you will see us on New Years Eve!  If the lights aren’t too bright, we might be able to see you too!  So put on your dancing shoes and bring out your throwing panties and we can all welcome 2011 together.  If you can’t make it then, we are playing at … just check the “Shows” link to see when we are playing next!

It was great to see all you Portlandianiters.  An extra special thanks to you regalars who drove all the way to Ptown to see the show.

As you all know, we are heading back to Weirdland this Saturday to Macadam’s Bar and Grill.  Hope to see you there!  We might even have a surprise for you.

The only problem we had with Friday night is that it was our last show until we can get booked at another venue!  I will personally buy a beer for the first three people to find us a gig. Thats right folks, its the first Ambush Party contest.  If you can book us more than one gig, you may get a special prize depending on how awesome you are.  (Special prize to be determined later.)

Well, thanks again to Bombs Away for having us, thanks to Searchlights for being awesome, and thanks to Elvin and family for a wonderful after-party.  Somebody get this guy an AP hat already!

I just want to say we had a great time at the benefit for the Whiteside Theater!  Hopefully they will be able to open their doors soon and enjoyment will be had by all.

This Friday we will be performing at Bombs Away (See the gigs calendar.  You can’t miss it.) with Searchlights from Portland. This is a free show, so there is no excuse not to come out.  Also, it is the last show we have booked for a while.  On that note, if you know of a place that would host us for the evening we would be very grateful.
